Strawberry Park Hot Springs – A Steamboat Springs Hot Springs
Strawberry Park Hot Springs is an off-the-grid Steamboat Springs Hot Springs that offers a relaxing getaway in a beautiful natural setting. It is open year round and located about 8 miles north of Steamboat Springs on the edge of Routt National Forest. Strawberry Park Hot Springs features 5 cascading hot pools surrounded by extensive hand-laid stone masonry. The soaking pools range in temperature from 101 to 105 F (38 – 41 C) so you’ll be able to find your very own sweet spot of geo-thermal goodness.

There are snacks and beverages available but it is recommended you bring plenty of water – no glass please – and there are picnic areas available if you want to bring brunch / lunch / dinner with you, just keep in mind that fires are verboten. Change rooms and washrooms are on site. Because Strawberry Park Hot Springs is off the electrical umbilicus, there is no extraneous light to interfere with your star gazing. Do bring a headlamp or flashlight with you though if you are planning on soaking in the evening to help you get around. Also, in the evening hours the hot springs are swimsuit optional.

Tenting sites are available during the summer as are some cabins. There is some year round accommodation available – make sure you check out the genuine and refurbished railroad caboose – and entrance to the Hot Springs is included with the cost of your lodging. Reservations are absolutely necessary. If you are driving to Strawberry Park during the winter, it is required by law that you have snow tires or chains as the last couple of miles can be very difficult driving. It is strongly suggested that you have a four wheel drive vehicle to get you through.
If you don’t feel comfortable making the trip in your own vehicle, there are shuttles available from Steamboat Springs so you can relax and leave the driving to professionals. See the tables below for links to the shuttle companies.
